As of 2010 the fundraising efforts and support by the the national and local philanthropists have made her archaeological study of Ancient Nubia a reality. Using monies raised beginningin 2004, she was able to travel to Paris for the Meroitic Conference of Nubian Studies. Nubia met and talked with the professors of the University of Khartoum and Shendi University.  She met the top anthropologists, archaeologists, linguist and paleontologists from around the world that study Nubian archaeology. The group composed of Dr. Anderson Thompson, Dr. Leonard Jeffries, Nubia, and two other students of archaeology were the only African Americans present at the conference. They also met with Sudanese presenters and participants from the University of Shendi, Archaeology School of Sudan, and the University of Khartoum. There, Nubia was fortunate to meet the Prime minister of Sudan and the President of National Monuments and Conservation, who offered Nubia employment after the completion of her Doctoral studies. As of 2010 Nubia became a volunteer at the National Corporation of Antiquities and Museums of Sudan. (also known as the National Museum of Sudan) In this position Nubia was able to work with administrators, registrars, curators and directors within the museums collections storage.

As of December 2010 she was able to tour the Royal Palace of Meroe and Pyramids of the Kings, Queens and Pharoahs of Meroe 3500 BC to 350 Ad and to meet and talk with the professors of the University of Shendi and University of Khartoum.  All this would not have been possible without past fund-raisers, and we are forever thankful!!
Wardford will return to Sudan to complete her M.A. and Ph.D.
Nubia is truly dedicated to this task and looks forward to her studies at the University of Shendi and working with Professors from the University of Khartoum. Nubia does this not only for her own interests, but to complete and correct World History as we know it, and specifically to fill in the chronology of Pre-Historic and Ancient Africa. The reclamation and recovery of our history is an arduous and necessary task that will educate and enlighten us now and in the futuree.
